ABOUT DR. GLADYS WEST
Dr. Gladys West is an American mathematician known for her work contributing to the development of the Global Positioning System (GPS)⁵⁶. She was born on October 27, 1930⁵. Her contributions have been hidden for too long¹. Until now, her story has remained untold³.
In December 2018, Dr. West was inducted into the Air Force Space and Missile Pioneers Hall of Fame by the United States Air Force during a ceremony held at the Pentagon².
Construction uses GPS technology's hardware and software to track the location and movement of construction equipment and vehicles. It also helps with site surveying, fuel efficiency, equipment maintenance, and worker safety. It relies on data from satellites that communicate with GPS tags attached to the equipment or vehicles.
