DAILY

Billion Dollar Luncheon Daily Planning Meetings

Meetings are held via Zoom Conference each Monday at 4:45pm EST and 5pm the remainder of the week, ie, Tuesday through Friday.

Operations

Meetings held via Zoom every Thursday at 8:30am EST

The operations committee provides review, guidance, and oversight for the overall operations of the organization. Committee members develop insight into the business operations to suggest strategic business/organization directions and policy implementation. Discuss organization issues at hand and provide proper feedback or suggestions to senior and executive board

Finance

Meetings are held via Dialpad Conference each Thursday of the Month at 7:00 am EST

The role of the finance committee is to ensure the organization’s financial stability by providing financial oversight for the organization on its budget and investments and creating a regularly, updated, long-range financial plan for the organization typical task areas include: budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies. The members should be comprised of: a chairperson, president, treasurer, administrator or fiscal sponsor, staff, or chief financial officer.

Education & Training

Meetings are held via Zoom Conference Bi-Weekly on Tuesdays at 9:30am EST

This committee is responsible for furthering the strategic plan of the organization by identifying, developing and supporting the educational needs of its membership. The committee seek opportunities to increase the number of certified minority firms, improve business sustainability and scalability of its small business members, provide resources to increase bonding, access to capital, and procurement opportunities in the state, local and federal markets. Specialized training such as construction management, project estimating, government account are resources available to the membership.

NABWIC INVESTS (Training and Development)

Membership & Chapter Development

Meetings held via Zoom Conference every Tuesday at 6:00 for Leadership and 6:30pm EST for Members

This committee is dedicated to strengthening the infrastructure of the organization at the local level and thus increasing its membership base. NABWIC’s growth and strength as an organization is directly related to the size and reach of its membership base. This committee is responsible for the chartering and re-chartering of NABWIC chapters/areas, orienting new members to the organization, identifying and coordinating member benefits and incentives, managing renewals, developing member retention and engagement activities, establishing student chapters and developing and managing corporate members and partnerships.

The events committee has oversight and responsibility for development, operations, sponsorship, management, and promotion of NABWIC, as well as sponsorship activities for all major meeting and conferences.  The committee shall submit proposals and conference information to the board for review prior to major commitments

Marketing & Communications

Meetings are held via Zoom Conference every Thursday at 5:30 PM EST

Marketing and communication committee shall recommend annual and long-term budgets and goals for marketing and communications; monitor and oversee the reporting of such progress in achieving the desired goals; provide leadership, advice, and assistance to assure that a positive public image for NABWIC is displayed among its audiences and stakeholders, to support the vision and mission of the organization; and coordinate marketing and communication activities and initiatives as well as provide general oversight of the results and impact of ongoing marketing and communications activities.

Sponsorship

Meetings are held via Zoom Conference every Thursday at 10:00 AM EST

The Sponsorship Committee recommends annual and long-term budgets and goals for sponsorships and partnerships; monitor and oversee the reporting of progress in achieving these goals; provide leadership, advice, and assistance to ensure that NABWIC builds and maintains strong relationships with sponsors, donors, and stakeholders; support the vision and mission of the organization by securing sponsorships and funding opportunities; and coordinate sponsorship and partnership activities and initiatives. The committee will also provide general oversight of the results and impact of ongoing sponsorship and development efforts to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.

Legislative/Legal

Meetings are held via Zoom Conference every Saturday 9:30am EST

The legislative committee recommends actions to be taken on legislative issues and assists in developing the NABWIC legislative agenda.  The work of the committee can include: developing national and local legislative positions; writing policy-related articles for the newsletter and/or web page; sponsoring continuing education opportunities that combine policy with practice issues; and interacting with members and public-sector agencies about policy and advocacy. For information regarding the Legislative/Legal Committee, please contact  Valerie Mundy.
